Image of Texas Instruments' TPSM33625 Synchronous Buck Power ModuleTexas Instruments' TPSM33625 is a 1.5 A or 2.5 A, 36 V input synchronous step-down DC/DC power module that combines flip chip on lead (FCOL) packaging, power MOSFETs, an integrated inductor, and a boot capacitor in a compact and easy-to-use 3.5 mm x 4.5 mm x 2 mm 11-pin HotRod™ QFN package. The small package technology enhances thermal performance, ensuring high ambient temperature operation. In conjunction with spread spectrum, the device provides excellent EMI performance and can be configured to an output range of 1 V to 15 V with a feedback divider and an operator.

The TPSM33625 is designed to meet low standby power requirements for always-on industrial applications. The auto mode enables frequency foldback when operating at light loads, allowing a no-load current consumption of 1.5 µA at 13.5 V VIN and high light-load efficiency. A seamless transition between the PWM and PFM modes along with low MOSFET ON resistance provide exceptional efficiency across the entire load range. The module uses peak-current-mode architecture with internal compensation to maintain stable operation with minimal output capacitance. The dual random spread spectrum (DRSS) can reduce the external components of the input EMI filter. The RT-pin variant can synchronize or set the frequency between 200 kHz and 2.2 MHz to avoid noise-sensitive frequency bands.
